I discovered this little Portugal gem the first time I visited the Kensington Market. Afterward, I dined at the Amadeus Restaurant every time I visited the Kensington Market. The last time I visited, I smelled the wonderful Grill Sardines after I ordered my dishes. Therefore, I reminded myself to order this dish during my next visit and here I am. Codfish Cakes The Codfish Cakes external batter is very thin and crispy. The mashed potatoes inside are extremely light and puffy. I can taste the salted codfish but not overpowering. I have never been to Portugal before but this Codfish Cakes is on par with many five-star hotel Portuguese restaurants in Macau (a former Portugal colony). Grill Sardines I can already smell the Grill Sardines as the server brings this dish toward my table and its smell is so appetizing. If you like fish then the Grill Sardines is very tasty. If you do not like fish then the Grill Sardines is very fishy. This Grill Sardines dish took me more than 45 minutes to finish (a lot of bones) but I enjoyed every single bite. Tocino de Cielo This dessert pudding did not taste bad at all. For some reason, it tastes / smells like a paper cup to me. Not recommend. Overall, this is the most traditional and authentic Portugal restaurant I tried in Toronto. Plus, their patio is very relaxing during a warm sunny day which you can easily spend two hours without notice. I will definitely come again the next time I visit the Kensington Market.

Dropped in here over the long weekend in our quest to eat our way through Kensington Market. Was busy so we weren't able to get a patio seat but we were inside by a big window. Ordered a half pitcher of red sangria to start. The initial taste was gross but after a glass, we were chugging it down. Tends to grow on you. Also ordered the cod fish cakes. They were excellent. Deep fried and crispy on the outside, moist on the inside. Loved them. Also ordered the collard green soup. Not something I would go back for. But I will go back for sangria and fish cakes.

First visit since 3rd covid wave. Their big patio was open but still closed for indoor dining. I was with a group of 8 people and most of people ordered Portuguese roasted chicken dish. I sampled a bit it was not bad. I myself ordered "Cod A Bras" ; Salted cod, onion, egg and potatoes. It was pretty good. My friend seemed to find Grilled codfish way too salty. That was only complaint I heard for the day. Service was friendly and attentive as always.

A wonderful place to end your night while exploring Kensington Market. A more upscale place in a Bohemian area, Amadeus retains its Kensington charm by being a family restaurant in an evermore corporate world. The food is amazing while still being very affordable, and the drinks are out of this world. They'll take care of you. Can't recommend it enough.

Our first dinner stop while in Canada and we couldn't have asked for a better experience! We were fortunate enough to get them on their 2-for-1 entree special and got to try some of the best Portuguese food I've ever had. The staff was pleasant, the food was great, and the experience was perfect. Couldn't have asked for a better first stop.

On a very warm summer evening, walking through Kensington Market after dinner, the patio at Amadeu's looked very inviting for a cold drink and some relaxation. We were right. A cold pitcher of red sangria certainly hit the spot. It was very refreshing, with just the right amount of sweetness. Nice. The ambiance on the patio was just right. The sometimes strong scent of marijuana had nothing to do with our happy mood. This was, after all, Kensignton Market. Had we not just eaten, there are a few things on the menu that I would have tried. Maybe I'll just have to come back.
